Password Safety

Passwords

Always create unique passwords for your online accounts. Never share your password. Create passwords that contain lowercase letters, capital letter, numbers and special characters. Every additional character strengthens a password.

Never share your password over the phone, in text, by email, or in person. The longer the password, the harder it is to crack.

Avoid using obvious passwords such as

  • Your name
  • Family member names
  • Pets names
  • Birthdates

Choose a password you can remember without writing it down. If you do choose to write it down, be sure to store it in a secure location.
