Our Story

West Virginia League Central Credit Union of Charleston, West Virginia was chartered in 1969. To better reflect the individuality of our members, we changed our name to West Virginia Central Credit Union in 1995 and moved to our new location at 1306 Murdoch Ave, Parkersburg, WV. Since that time we have added two additional locations to better serve our members. We have become an active participant in cooperative networks providing our members’ access to 35,000 ATMs and 5,000 credit union branches across the country.

We continued to do business as a state chartered credit union serving Select Employee Groups and their family members in and around West Virginia. On September 19, 2017 we started operating as a federal credit union, serving those that live, work, worship or attend school in the counties of Wood, Pleasants, Ritchie, Wirt or Jackson in West Virginia or the county of Washington in Ohio.

Our President/CEO, Michael Tucker, has the following to say about WV Central. “We like to operate under the philosophy of People Helping People. We dedicate each day to our members, striving to provide world-class services that meet their needs and expectations. If you are a current member of Central, I encourage you to use as many of our services as possible; if you are currently not a member but are in our field of membership please consider becoming a member. Let’s work together to do more for others, which will allow each and every one of us an opportunity to enjoy a better quality of life.”

The following is a quote that helps to describe the success of WV Central Credit Union:
“Success has nothing to do with what you gain in life or accomplish for yourself. It’s what you do for others.”
